A Dickens of a Holiday

“And it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us!’’ This quote from the Dickens holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol,” is a joyful reminder that the Great Dickens Christmas Fair and Victorian Holiday Party, that annual harbinger of holiday cheer, will ‘ere be upon us. Opening November 18th at the Cow Palace Exhibition Halls, you are invited to step back in time and experience the magic of a Dickens Christmas. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Victorian London as you walk amongst parties, tea rooms, music halls, pubs, cozy lamp lit streets, and over 100 shops.

Scores of colorful characters from the works of Dickens will surely make the event merry, and hearty Victorian food and drink will be available in abundance. Join Fezziwig’s Dance Party, and don’t be surprised to see Father Christmas, chimney sweeps and urchins, Bobbies, and even Dickens himself. Or, you may even see Her Majesty Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert touring the town. Open for five delightful weekends through December 17.
