An Insider's Guide to
San Francisco

Join Our St. Patrick's Day Party

March 01, 2017

Attracting over 100,000 visitors and party-goers annually, San Francisco’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival is not only one of the city’s most popular events, but is also the largest Irish event on the West Coast. This year promises more of the same, as we celebrate the 166th anniversary of our city’s celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

The party starts at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11 at the Civic Center Plaza, with the festival ongoing before, during, and after the parade, until 5:00 p.m. The parade begins at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Second and Market, and will feature more than 5,000 participants from all over the country as they make their way down the parade route to City Hall.

Festival events will include live music on the main stage by The Crooked Road Ceili Band, The Irish News Boys, and The Jerry Hannan Band. Other activities include dancing, arts and crafts exhibitors, children’s rides, balloons, food and drink vendors, non-profit booths by the Irish community, and, of course, an endless supply of beer.
