Making Your Holidays Merry and Bright

December 03, 2018

This December, San Francisco offers up an abundant assortment of holiday-themed events and attractions, and a few of our favorites are listed here. First, gather the family and head over to the War Memorial Opera House through December 29 for the San Francisco Ballet’s annual performance of “The Nutcracker.” This enchanting version of Tchaikovsky’s beloved classic was first performed here on Christmas Eve in 1944 and has long since become a holiday tradition.

Next, don’t miss the A.C.T.’s performance of another holiday classic, Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Showing at the Geary Theater through December 26, this has been performed here for over 40 years. Lastly, be sure to catch a performance of Cirque du Soleil’s “Volta,” showing through February 3, 2019, at the Grand Chapiteau at AT&T Park. This story of a young man’s search for his dreams and the lessons he learns is a heartwarming story, and always one of the City’s most eagerly anticipated holiday events.
