An Insider's Guide to
San Francisco
October 07, 2019 October brings a myriad of fun and fascinating events for our visitors and guests to experience, and we are showcasing two of our favorites here. An amazing outdoor festival of performance, dance, visual arts, and music, Yerba Buena Night is always one of San Francisco’s largest and most interesting events. Join in the fun on October 12 at the Yerba Buena Gardens’ Jessie Square, Yerba Buena Lane, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, when this free annual event will feature a variety of inspirational, stimulating, and wildly entertaining performances. Acts include such performers as The Afrofunk Experience, Theatre Flamenco, the San Francisco Neo-Futurists, and many more. 37th Annual Leap Sandcastle Classic Head over to Ocean Beach on October 26, for this yearly sandcastle-construction extravaganza. 2019’s theme is “Let’s Play,” and will feature numerous teams of students, teachers, and parents from partner schools competing to build award-winning sandcastles. Teams are judged on design, craft, theme, and teamwork, and live music will keep the party hopping until the Best in Show awards are announced.
